Inspiration - This rug was a Van Gogh chair challenge piece. When I first moved to Green Bay from Tokyo, Japan in 1985, I didn't have any friends here. However, I was able to meet so many wonderful people when I joined the local spinning group. Then, I got busy with work and raising children, I stopped spinning, dying and all the fiber art I really enjoyed. Around 2004, I was going through a difficult time in my life. At that time, I met a very talented rug hooker who introduced me to this wonderful art, and helped me through the difficult time. I made this design thinking about how spinning, dying and rug hooking really had helped me overcome many life challenges.
